Korea Day 1 & 2

For some reason, I'm feeling super positive and energized of late! I always get this kind of feeling whenever I get back to college after a long break. I guess I just love being on-the-go and having things to do. Mum came over to Penang so I'm currently at my sis's place. Finally met Deji after so long, he isn't angry at me for sending him to board :') He's so different from Tasha, our dog back in Ipoh. If you hit that one, she'll remember it till the next day and ignores you until you sayang her back. Woman.

Pictures taken on the first and second day of our trip! First day wasn't really counted because by the time we reached it was almost midnight and we did nothing much except eating delivery food and going to bed after that.

First! A hugeass picture of myself on the Yoyo bus. Words cannot explain how much I hate travelling from Ipoh or any other states without a proper airport. 3 hours to the airport, another God-knows-how-many-hours more to your destination.

Another one. #shameless

IMG_6819
Annoying sis who was 'coincidentally' in blazer and black tank top. I really think she secretly admires the way I dress and sees me as a style icon! HAHA

Fast forward to Seoul! ♥
IMG_6843
Lucky airport customs who get to meet celebrities! What kind of job privilege is that??!

After reaching Incheon Airport, we had to travel another 40 minutes to reach our serviced apartment in Gangnam. The driver who picked us from the airport and drove us there was crazy. He placed his phone next to the GPS and BROWSED VIDEOS, KEYED IN SONGS' NAMES, WATCH MUSIC VIDEOS and do all sorts of nonsense on this phone, all while driving. I swear his eyes wasn't even looking in front. I bet he even played Fruit Ninja when he's driving alone. I hate reckless driving! :(

IMG_6846
Molestation going on at Seocho-Coop Residence HAHA! In case you were wondering, dad was actually supporting Rohan's body because he had to fix the air conditioner flap. Super dodgy lol.

One bed downstairs..

IMG_6848
...another one upstairs.

IMG_6865
Ordered food from this menu. Got it from the reception. Everything looked so good!

IMG_6858
TA DA! Ja-chiang mian, jap-chae, some spicy noodle soup and some clear seafood noodle soup hahaha. i suck at remembering names.

IMG_6859
Side dishes that came along - pickled radish and kimchi.

IMG_6860
Attack!!!

I like how they don't deliver their food in paper plates or polystyrene boxes. A black plastic bag is given to you so after finishing your food, just chuck all the dirty tableware into the plastic and place it at your doorstep. They'll collect it in a few hours.

IMG_6862
Hot noodles on a cold, autumn night. Shiokness. Check out Rohan's expression.

IMG_6861
Mummy and second aunty who came along with us! :)

The second day was spent exploring COEX Mall, Asia's largest underground shopping mall. I woke up pretty late and took my own sweet time getting ready so by the time everyone was done, it was almost lunch time. :P

IMG_6895
Wore my mustard cardigan from G Market! I'm obsessed with this colour already. I used to think that it's one of the most unappealing colour ever cause it looks like shit hahaha but I'm slowly loving it :)

Dad photobombing us in the elevator.

IMG_6904
Streets of Gangnam on a rainy afternoon. Walking to Exit No 4 to take the subway to COEX.

IMG_6906
Took touristy pictures by the roadside while getting stares from working people walking out to grab lunch. :P

IMG_6909
Finding for a place to eat! Most of the restaurants were full cause it was lunchtime. I forgot to adjust my watch so I thought it was only 11 something and kept wondering what's wrong with these Korean people, why are they having lunch so early LOL.

After awhile, we settled for one which didn't have much customer, yet. Because the crowd was pouring in right after we were seated.

Mom and Dad.

IMG_6915
There weren't any long tables so we had to sit separately :(

IMG_6927
I don't know how they grow their rice until so round and defined. After having Korean rice for days, I totally dislike the rice we have back here now. #pampered

Mum posing with the marinated raw crab nobody dared to try.

IMG_6935
Free tong sui!:D Censored sis's face with a heart shape cause I am damn lazy to photoshop her double chin hahahaha. And she just got married, so I thought the heart shape was quite apt.

IMG_6936

Changed currency and window-shopped because everything is motherfcking expensive. Was trying to save money to shop at Myeongdong but ended up didn't have enough time to shop there also! Kanasai.

Went to COEX Aquarium after that.

I don't know why kindergarten decided to declare that day to be Let's-Go-To-Aquarium Day. There were at least five groups of kids wearing different colours. The yellow one above was the group with the most kids!!! It was crazy in there with all that screaming and running around.

Does anyone knows any Korean words that sound similar to PUKIMA? Cos I kept hearing those kindy teachers calling the kids that! It wasn't me alone, even my dad and aunt heard the same thing. We asked Rohan and he told us there's no such word so we thought alright, maybe that kid's name sounds similar to PUKIMA or maybe that kid's name IS PUKIMA. HAHA F the kid's L in Malaysia or Singapore.

BUT! A few days after that, I heard an ajuma (aunty) calling her friend that in a public toilet. So it must be a Korean phrase right? Sigh this is still a question in our family till this day.

Mega excited kids.

Prairie dog!

IMG_6983
Mirror which totally elongates my legs. But the thing is, my legs look pretty normal. Which sadly means after elongation, my legs are still at an acceptable length. I don't wanna live in this world anymore.

This is me, with fishes in the bed's headboard.

These are the kids, with fishes in the bed's headboard.

Fish spa! The holes are for you to put your hands in.

IMG_7069
Diamond piranha. They have glittery scales!:D How can something so gorgeous be so dangerous? Actually a lot of gorgeous stuff are dangerous...like me. HAHAHA #buaypaiseh

IMG_7228
Hi crab your legs look yummy.

I took hundreds of pictures but it's impossible to upload so many. Plus, some photos are not of the best qualities because most are taken under low light and I'm not exactly a ''manual mode'' user :P

IMG_7247
COEX Aquarium is really a fun place to be at with your family, especially with kids but if you're travelling with your friends, just skip this place. I reckon you use the time to shop or explore the city. Afterall, you don't go all the way to Korea to see some fishes right! Haha.

After COEX Aquarium, we went to the Kimchi Museum located in COEX itself. No captions cause I'm getting sleepy and there's nothing much in the museum except educational stuff like how kimchi is made, history behind it, its nutritional values, bla bla *yawns

Grandma likes pickles.

After Kimchi Museum, my camera died on me. But above pretty much sums up Day 1 and 2. After the museum, we got back to our apartment, ate and slept REALLY early for the wedding the next day. Super early as in I had enough sleep and woke up naturally but it was only 3am.
I wanna blog about the wedding but I think I should wait for pictures from the official photographer.

Day 4 and 5 next but the amount of pictures taken freak me out a little bit.

Happy Deepavali, people! I miss going over to my Indian friend's house on Deepavali for curry feast :(
