Khuntai Thai Food!

Memories of my first trip to Khuntai many, many years ago with the family was unbelievably still etched at the back of my mind. I still remember we went there extremely hungry and ordered food enough to feed a village. Glorious food though! But too much of Thai food did no good to our already acidic tummies. My younger sis and I spent the next day vomiting everywhere. At home, a few times in the clinic and at the streets. Haha. But I thought to myself that it was all worth it. I've never had better tomyam elsewhere. Not even in Thailand.

My tummy and I have come a long way since then. Stronger and better WTF

Last Sunday, I went there again with two friends!:D I was having super terrible flu and cough at that time, totally not appropriate to have Thai food so I said no to them. But the devil in me decided to come out and said it's not all the time that we're driving all the way to Butterworth so screw it eat first, cough later hahahaha.

This Thai appetizer is called ''mieng kam''. Just realized in Hokkien it means ''don't need to close'' hahaha. You eat this dish by wrapping the various condiments with the leaf. Super yummy!!! Whole lot of different flavours and textures in one bite.

Steamed sour and spicy kepah. Super sour, don't ever eat with empty stomach.

Omelette with Thai vegetables. It's written like that on the menu hahaha.

Deep fried kangkung. Pretty mediocre.

And no visit to Khuntai is ever complete without their signature Tomyam Gong!

Super gao, just the right level of spiciness and sourness. Awesome!!! I wanna tapao the leftover soup and bring back to cook Maggi hahaha.
